It comes in variety of colors which ranges from bright red to dark reddish brown. Deep blooded red with a slight bluish hue is the most preferred one all over the world. Rubies are also available in yellowish, orange and purple tones. Some transparent rubies are rarer than diamond. The value of transparent and flawless rubies exceeds any other gem in value. Ruby can be found in Sri Lanka, Madagascar, Afghanistan, Kenya, Vietnam, and Thailand. United States also has varying quality of rubies. Burmese ruby are considered to be the most exotic and beautiful of all.
