CHAROITE appearing as an opaque gemstone with a wild, swirling pattern of interlocking crystals. It is an unusual mineral of rare occurrence only found along the Chary River at Aldan in Russia.  Charoite was discovered near the Charo River in Siberia in 1978, hence the name. Charoite has only recently become available on the market. It can only be sourced from Russia and has very strict export regulations. Restrictions and tight control has made Charoite more difficult than most to obtain.
